According to the personnel hearing materials submitted to the National Assembly on the 8th, the nominee's eldest son, Mr. A, is currently working as an artificial intelligence (AI) researcher at a domestic conglomerate's management development institute. He graduated from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and is known to have completed his military service as a specialized research agent there.
Mr. A reported a 2024 Santa Fe Hybrid vehicle (43.44 million won), 327.44 million won in deposits, and stocks worth 62.51 million won.
He received a total of 78.39 million won, including a salary of 32.7 million won and a bonus of 45.69 million won in the first half of this year, which is more than his mother, a family medicine specialist from Seoul National University College of Medicine.
The nominee has been working as a professor at Seoul National University College of Medicine since September 2023. According to the earned income withholding tax data, the nominee received a total of 75.76 million won from Seoul National University Hospital in the first half of this year.
Last year, Mr. A's annual salary was 146.03 million won, while the nominee's was 159.27 million won, making Mr. A's salary slightly less, but it was more than the nominee's salary as the head of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (145.33 million won in 2021, 141.28 million won in 2020).

Meanwhile, the nominee's second son, Mr. B, reported deposits of 184.43 million won and stocks worth 62.49 million won, and is also known to have entered a science and engineering field (Pohang University of Science and Technology) like his brother.
The nominee's spouse, Mr. C, a family medicine specialist from Seoul National University College of Medicine, is currently working as a department head at a hospital in Incheon. Mr. C's income from the hospital was 189.42 million won last year and 181.01 million won in 2023.
