[Financial News]  A bus driver who was driving a city bus in Sejong City continued to drive without stopping after causing a collision accident and was caught by the police.

On the 8th, the Sejong Southern Police Station announced that they are investigating a former bus driver in his 60s, Mr. A, on charges of hit-and-run (under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes).

Mr. A, who was a city bus driver in Sejong City, collided with the rear of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) waiting for a signal on a road in Naeseong-dong, Sejong City, on the 16th of last month.

However, Mr. A did not stop the bus and continued to push the SUV forward, driving an additional 150 meters. Mr. A, who was driving in violation of the signal, eventually stopped the bus after protests from passengers.

As a result of this accident, the SUV driver was hospitalized for 7 days for treatment, and it is known that the passengers were not injured.

The investigation revealed that Mr. A was not driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, nor was he drowsy driving.

In the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated, "I don't remember at the time" and "I was not aware of the accident."

A police official stated, "We are investigating on hit-and-run charges because the post-accident measures were not smoothly carried out on the scene," and "Mr. A has not claimed any health issues or submitted related materials."

Meanwhile, it is known that Mr. A received a recommendation to resign from the bus company after the accident and has now left the job.
