[Financial News] Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung criticized on the 29th, "Whenever a conservative regime takes power, major disasters occur."
Candidate Lee campaigned in front of Seoul Seocho-gu Express Bus Terminal Station this afternoon, stating, "In the past three years, has there been any improvement in the economy or increased safety in South Korea since the People Power Party, the former ruling party, produced a president and took power?" he remarked.
Candidate Lee pointed out, "As conflicts continue along the inter-Korean armistice line and military confrontation threats increase, foreign investors are withdrawing their investment funds, leading to not only security but also economic deterioration," and "Diplomacy is meant to protect national interests and improve the lives of the people, but how much was lost and democracy regressed due to factional diplomacy during the previous regime?"
In particular, Candidate Lee mentioned the 10.29 Itaewon disaster and the Osong underground road flooding incident, stating, "If the president, who is the highest personnel officer, is concerned about the lives and safety of the people, civil servants below would ensure safety at all costs, and such incidents would not occur. However, due to the incompetence and irresponsibility of the Yoon regime, the country has become unsafe, resulting in harm to our citizens."
Candidate Lee emphasized, "Good politicians are those who take care of the people's livelihood and ensure a peaceful and safe life for the citizens, and giving them opportunities is democracy and responsible politics. What does ideology, color, or faction matter?" He appealed, "The Democratic Party's Lee Jae-myung government, during a short presidential term, aims to create a better world and improve the lives of the people without childish division. Please trust us."
