Starbucks Korea announced on the 29th that it has opened the Gwangjang Market Store in Gwangjang Market, Jongno-gu, Seoul. It is Starbucks' 12th special store and the second store to open within a traditional market. Gwangjang Market is the first permanent market in Korea with over 100 years of history and tradition. Gwangjang Market Store is designed with a retro concept called 'Coffee Emporium Extracting Time' reflecting the characteristics of a diverse age group of domestic and international customers visiting.

The store is about 250 seats in total, including a rooftop and ground floors 1 and 2. Each floor is designed with different spaces and menus to add uniqueness. The first floor allows you to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Gwangjang Market with coffee. It operates as a takeout order. The main space on the second floor is designed to feel the heritage of Starbucks and Gwangjang Market through murals and artworks collaborated with domestic artists. The third-floor rooftop allows customers visiting the store to take commemorative photos with the background of the Gwangjang Market sign and Starbucks phrases engraved in Hangul on the wall.

Jeong-Hyun Son, CEO of Starbucks Korea, said, "I hope Gwangjang Market Store will become a space of coexistence where Gwangjang Market is further revitalized and grows together with merchants," and "We will continue to present various programs that promote coexistence with the community even after the store opens."
