[Financial News] LG Display is temporarily operating a 'short-term external dispatch system' for production workers to maintain employment stability.
According to the industry on the 29th, LG Display has decided to recruit volunteers for a temporary short-term dispatch system through labor-management agreement starting June 2. This is the first time LG Display has introduced an external dispatch system.
The scale of external dispatch is flexible depending on the number of applicants, and temporary manpower supplementation is needed to respond to seasonal peak demand, so they will work at LG Innotek from July for about four months. The work location is expected to be based on the same area as the current workplace, such as Paju and Gumi. After the dispatch period ends, they will return to their original workplace, and the wage during the dispatch period will be paid based on LG Innotek's standards.
LG Display stated that they are operating this system to maintain employment stability along with efficient workforce management during the process of accelerating the business structure upgrade centered on organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) after ending the large liquid crystal display (LCD) business.
LG Display is also known to accept voluntary retirement applications for production workers. Voluntary retirement is for production workers with more than 3 years of service, and a severance package of 45 months of fixed salary and children's educational expenses will be provided.
To enhance workforce efficiency, LG Display previously accepted voluntary retirements for production workers in June last year, and in November of the same year, they implemented voluntary retirement for office workers for the first time in 5 years since 2019.
