[Financial News] It has been identified that Lee Chang-su, the Seoul Central District Prosecutor, who recently expressed his intention to resign, will work until the 2nd of next month.
According to the legal community on the 29th, Prosecutor Lee, who announced his intention to resign on the 20th, is expected to work until the 2nd of next month, the day before the 6·3 presidential election. The schedule for the retirement ceremony has not yet been decided.
Prosecutor Lee was involved in investigations of luxury bag bribery allegations and Deutsche Motors stock manipulation allegations, leading to Mrs. Kim being cleared of charges, which sparked controversy over 'lenient investigation'. The National Assembly impeached Prosecutor Lee and others on December 5 last year for reasons including inadequate investigation, but the Constitutional Court unanimously dismissed it on March 13.
Meanwhile, the Seoul High Prosecutor's Office decided on the 25th of last month to reopen the investigation into the stock manipulation allegations related to Mrs. Kim.
