[Financial News] The Presidential Security Office held the '2025 1st Presidential Security and Safety Countermeasure Committee' on the 29th to ensure the absolute safety of the security targets, including the 21st Presidential Inauguration Ceremony.
With less than a week left until the presidential inauguration, the Presidential Security and Safety Countermeasure Committee, operated by the Security Office and 14 committee agencies, inspected security and safety measures and agency-specific response plans, with participation from the Presidential Security Office, National Intelligence Service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Supreme Prosecutors' Office, National Police Agency, National Fire Agency, Korea Coast Guard, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Defense Security Command, and Capital Defense Command.
The Presidential Security and Safety Countermeasure Committee addressed key agendas such as △Preparation for Security and Safety of the Presidential Inauguration △Diagnosis of Security Environment Before and After the Inauguration △Strengthening Cooperation Systems Among Agencies.
The Security Office explained that preparations for contingencies for the safe hosting of the presidential inauguration event scheduled for June 4th, as well as the establishment of security and safety measures and analysis of vulnerabilities to security threats before and after the inauguration, were discussed.
The National Intelligence Service, National Police Agency, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Defense Security Command presented the preparation status for security and safety related to the presidential inauguration and major events before and after, and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation systems between the Security Office and related agencies for smooth security activities.
The agencies attending the Presidential Security and Safety Countermeasure Committee agreed to mobilize all available capabilities and resources to support the stable national administration of the next government, starting with the presidential inauguration, according to the Security Office.
An Gyeong-ho, acting head of the Security Office and chairman of the Presidential Security and Safety Countermeasure Committee, urged, "Based on domestic and international security situations and intelligence matters, we must analyze vulnerabilities comprehensively and meticulously check scenarios and manuals for various security threats and unexpected situations at each site, so that the President can focus on national administration safely. Each agency must gather their best capabilities with a strong sense of duty from their respective positions."
