 Jeonnam Boseong-gun announced on the 29th that 'spring new potatoes' grown in Boseong, a leading potato-producing region in South Korea, have entered the full harvest season.
 According to Boseong-gun, 'Boseong potatoes' grown in fertile soil and exposed to sea breeze are recognized for their deep flavor and excellent quality, establishing themselves as a premium potato brand.
 Especially this year, due to the low temperatures in early spring, growth was slightly delayed, and the harvest began about 10 days later than usual in late May, but the taste and quality are evaluated to be even better.
 In the Boseong area, about 1,000 farming households are producing potatoes on a cultivation area of 920 hectares, with an expected production of about 15,000 tons.
 The competitiveness of 'Boseong potatoes' lies in the high-quality seed potatoes with uniform and excellent quality. The high-quality seed potatoes produced and distributed directly by the Boseong Agricultural Technology Center are resistant to diseases and have excellent yields, greatly contributing to the stable income generation of farmers.
 Moreover, various varieties are cultivated according to consumer preferences, including the representative variety 'Chubaek', the new variety 'Geumseon' developed by the Rural Development Administration, the processing contract cultivation potato 'Daeseo', and the snack-favored 'Sumi'.
 Especially, the Deukryang and Hoecheon areas, which are directly affected by the sea breeze, produce 'Boseong potatoes' with high starch content, excellent texture, fluffy texture, and subtle saltiness. They are also rich in minerals, making them an ideal healthy snack for everyone from children to the elderly.
 Boseong-gun supplies harvested potatoes fresh to nationwide consumers not only through wholesale markets but also through the Boseong-gun online direct market 'Boseong Mall'.
