[Financial News]  Na Kyung-won, co-chair of the People's Power Party's joint election committee, expressed a pessimistic outlook on the unification of candidates Kim Moon-soo and Lee Jun-seok of the Reform New Party.
Na Kyung-won, pessimistic outlook on unification

Chairman Na said on the 29th on KBS1 Radio's "Sudden Current Affairs" that "Candidate Kim Moon-soo said he would try to unify until the end, but it is currently a bit difficult," adding, "We have tried our best to unify with candidate Lee Jun-seok."

It was also emphasized that candidate Kim Moon-soo continued to try to contact candidate Lee Jun-seok after campaigning late the previous day, but it was difficult to meet.

Chairman Na said, "It seems that candidate Lee Jun-seok is making a very regrettable decision," and added, "We even proposed conducting a kind of public opinion poll to decide who becomes the candidate after unification."

She continued, "However, I heard that the demand from candidate Lee Jun-seok's side was for our candidate to resign unconditionally. We accepted that unconditional resignation was not possible, and that a decision would be made through a public opinion poll open to the public."

She also explained the reason for focusing on unification.
Chairman Na said, "We are not unifying because of vote calculations. Beyond vote calculations, there are many uncertainties about the future of Korea that candidate Lee Jae-myung will bring," adding, "So former Prime Ministers Lee Nak-yeon and Sohn Hak-kyu are joining us in a kind of conscientious democratic alliance."

She also mentioned candidate Lee Jun-seok's so-called "chopstick remark" in the presidential TV debate and candidate Lee Jae-myung's son's 500,000 won summary order for hateful comments.

Chairman Na said, "I also criticized candidate Lee Jun-seok for the parts where his judgment was a bit lacking. The Democratic Party should apologize for candidate Lee Jae-myung's son's actions before criticizing," adding, "It is being revealed that candidate Lee Jae-myung's son posted comments that are too shameful to mention and received a 500,000 won fine at the end of last year. This is what candidate Lee Jun-seok pointed out in the debate."
Regarding Lee Jae-myung: "This is why the brother-in-law's curse is being recalled"

She also issued a high-level criticism towards candidate Lee Jae-myung.
Chairman Na said, "Even if candidate Lee Jae-myung apologizes and criticizes for his son's remarks that resulted in a fine, the Democratic Party is attacking candidate Lee Jun-seok without any apology for that, which seems too hypocritical," and added, "Looking at candidate Lee Jae-myung's son's remarks, it is inevitable that candidate Lee Jae-myung's past brother-in-law's curse is being recalled."

She further added, "Since the father speaks so carelessly and the son is like this, can we entrust the country to a candidate with such a character? This is not a matter of national dignity for Korea, I think."
