[Financial News] Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority announced on the 29th that it conducted customized investment attraction activities targeting promising companies in the Chinese-speaking region in Shanghai, China, from the 26th to the 29th for four days.
This activity was prepared to actively attract overseas investment by visiting the Shanghai Free Trade Zone Management Committee (including Lingang Development Zone) to benchmark the core hub of the world's largest port, Shanghai Port, the port logistics handling and hinterland development status of Yangshan Deepwater Port, and to attract potential investors from the Chinese-speaking region and strengthen international cooperation.
To this end, the Free Economic Zone Authority conducted various activities such as on-site inspections of industrial infrastructure and hinterland in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone, investment environment briefings and individual consultations for promising companies in China, and strengthening cooperative networks with Busan-Gyeongnam Trade Office and KOTRA Shanghai Trade Center.
In particular, the Free Economic Zone Authority plans to deeply analyze the free trade policy of Shanghai Lingang New Area, strategies for utilizing port hinterlands, and cases of advanced industrial agglomeration to reflect them in the BJFEZ foreign investment attraction strategy.
Targeted investment attraction activities were also carried out by visiting promising companies in the smart manufacturing and advanced logistics sectors in China, such as Company H and Company U. The Free Economic Zone Authority explained the investment environment and support of BJFEZ, including investment incentives and industrial agglomeration conditions, and Company H promised to visit the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone in July, expressing active investment interest.
Additionally, through practical consultations with the Busan-Gyeongnam Trade Office and KOTRA Shanghai Trade Center, a full-cycle investment attraction collaboration system was formalized, including joint discovery, due diligence, and settlement support for Chinese-speaking companies, and plans to build a more strategic and sustainable corporate attraction foundation in the future.
Director Park Seong-ho said, "We will actively reflect advanced cases to develop the hinterland of Busan New Port into a global complex industrial cluster," and "we will continue to strengthen the industrial cooperation base with the Chinese-speaking region, including China, to lead to substantial investment attraction."
