Park Geun-hye, former president, completed her vote at the early voting station set up at the Administrative Welfare Center in Yuga-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu. After voting, former President Park encouraged voters, saying, "You must actively participate in early voting to increase voter turnout" and "I hope you will definitely vote." However, she avoided specific comments on questions from reporters regarding 'conservative unification,' saying, "This is not the time for me to speak." Former President Park appeared at the polling station wearing a navy checkered jacket, white pants, and white sneakers.
Former President Moon Jae-in and his wife voted at the early voting station at the Habuk-myeon Residents' Autonomy Center in Yangsan-si, Gyeongnam. This was the first time former President Moon voted early in a presidential election since returning to his hometown. He voted in a navy jacket and jeans.
After voting, former President Moon told reporters, "I hope the people will remember why an early presidential election is being held," emphasizing, "This election is to judge the overall failure of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration and rebellion." He added, "We must hold them accountable with an overwhelming judgment," and "Only when we overwhelmingly judge the rebellion forces and their sympathizers through voting can our country stand upright and move forward." When asked about the relatively low Democratic Party vote rate in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam (Bu-Ul-Gyeong) region during the last general election, he predicted, "This early presidential election will be very different from the last one."
Presidential primary candidates also participated in early voting that day. Kim Dong-yeon, Gyeonggi Governor, cast his vote with his spouse, Jeong Woo-young, at the polling station set up at the Gwanggyo 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Suwon-si, Yeongtong-gu. After voting, Governor Kim said, "This presidential election will be an important opportunity to quickly end the rebellion and create a new Republic of Korea," and "I believe the newly formed government will do its utmost to overcome the economic crisis and achieve national unity." Kim Kyung-soo, the Democratic Party's general election campaign chairman, voted early in Gyeongnam, his main political stage.
On the other hand, Han Dong-hoon, former representative of the People Power Party, cast his vote in Gwangju, the 'heart of Honam.' Former Representative Han visited the Seonam-dong early voting station located at the Startup Support Center in Dong-gu, Gwangju. After voting, he said, "Please understand the hearts of those who are fighting even though they know they are losing," and "There are many people in Honam who are doing politics for good politics despite everything." He stated, "I came to Honam to vote early to support and empathize with their hearts."
Another People Power Party primary candidate, Hong Joon-pyo, former Daegu Mayor, said that day, "I barely survived the impeachment of Park Geun-hye, but this time it will be difficult to survive." Former Mayor Hong wrote on Facebook, "Don't blame me. Don't blame Lee Jun-seok either," and criticized, "It's your fault for making the wrong choice."
Former Mayor Hong criticized, "How can a public party do such a thing? It's all your own doing," and "Even though there was a chance to survive despite being impeached twice, your selfishness ruined even that." After being eliminated in the primary, former Mayor Hong left the party and is staying in Hawaii.
