【Financial News Yeoncheon=Kim Kyung-soo Reporter】  Kim Deok-hyeon, the Yeoncheon County Chief, has politely requested presidential candidates to establish the 'World Peace Culture and Arts Center' in Yeoncheon by releasing a statement.
Chief Kim stated, "To establish a practical status as a world peace city and achieve balanced national development and peace settlement on the Korean Peninsula through border area development, the World Peace Culture and Arts Center must be established in Yeoncheon," and urged, "Each candidate should adopt this as a pledge and reflect it as a national policy task for the next government."
Furthermore, Chief Kim emphasized, "Yeoncheon has endured sacrifices for national security since the division. It must transform from a neglected border to a symbol of peace on the Korean Peninsula," adding, "The World Peace Culture and Arts Center, to be created on a 1 million square meter site in Jeongok-eup, Mapo-ri, will heal conflicts through culture and arts and become a place of peace visited by world cultural artists and people worldwide."
Finally, Chief Kim said, "This plan is not a simple local development plan but a bold national vision for the future of the Korean Peninsula. I earnestly request presidential candidates to reflect this in their pledges and ensure its realization in the next government."
