Daegu Catholic University announced on the 29th that it has opened a 'Youth Lounge' at the plaza of Hayang (Daegu Catholic University) Station to alleviate the employment difficulties of local youth and has begun full-scale operations.
The youth lounge, which opened on the 27th, is a space prepared as part of the University Job Plus Center project (hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor), allowing young people to receive career and employment-related support close to their daily lives without having to come to the campus.
Located within Hayang (Daegu Catholic University) Station of Daegu Urban Railway Line 1, it boasts excellent accessibility and is expected to be an open space that can be used by not only Daegu Catholic University students but also young people from nearby areas.
President Seong Han-gi emphasized, "I hope the youth lounge will become a career and employment platform expanded from the campus to the region," adding, "We will continue to explore various paths for growth together with the university and local youth."
The opening of this youth lounge is drawing attention as a meaningful effort by the university and local community to solve youth unemployment.
The youth lounge offers various customized services such as providing employment information, career counseling, and guidance on government employment policies, and plans to operate diverse programs to enhance the practical employment capabilities of local youth.
Meanwhile, after the official event, booths offering major talent donation experiences and various employment information were operated until 5 p.m. In particular, the youth lounge promotion booth attracted many visitors by providing on-site consulting along with explanations on military career planning, government employment policies, and youth support projects.
