【Financial News Incheon=Han Gap-soo Reporter】 Incheon Jung-gu announced on the 29th that it will implement a revision of public bus routes, including the establishment of a new route between Yeongjong Middle School and Haneul City (Jung-gu Route 2), to solve the chronic issue of long-distance commuting in the Yeongjong area.
This revision focuses on ensuring the mobility rights of local youth who are commuting long distances due to a lack of schools in Yeongjong Haneul City. Accordingly, from next month on the 5th, Jung-gu Route 2 will be newly established, and the operating hours of Jung-gu Route 5 will be adjusted.
Jung-gu will first establish Route 2 between Yeongjong Middle School and Haneul City to facilitate the smooth return of Yeongjong Middle School students.
This route will operate one-way from Yeongjong Middle School to the Youth Training Center, LH7, Umi Lin 1 Complex, Haneul City Central Shopping Mall, and Dongwon Royal section. In particular, it will operate three times at 10-minute intervals during the weekday (Monday to Friday) return time (after 3 PM).
Additionally, the operating hours of Jung-gu Route 5, which has been passing through Unseo Middle School since March this year, have been slightly adjusted. This reflects the school's request to advance the boarding time for students to match the dismissal time.
Through this, students will be able to use the bus 20 to 25 minutes earlier than before during the return time. However, the number of daily operations remains the same.
Jung-gu expects that this public bus revision will provide a safer and more convenient means of transportation for long-distance commuting students in the Yeongjong area.
Kim Jeong-heon, Mayor of Jung-gu, said, “We hope that this public bus revision will allow students to commute more safely and conveniently.”
