Same Model as Muan Incident.. Jeju Air "Under Investigation"
[Financial News] A Jeju Air aircraft temporarily left the runway after landing at Da Nang Airport in Vietnam, damaging some of its tires. The aircraft is a Boeing 737-800, the same model as the Muan incident, carrying about 180 passengers.
According to the aviation industry on the 29th, flight 7C2217 (B737-800) from Incheon landed at Da Nang Airport at around 12:50 a.m. (local time) and temporarily veered off to the right buffer zone of the runway before returning.
No casualties occurred among the 183 passengers and crew, but the plane's landing gear wheels were torn.
Jeju Air conducted tire replacement work on the aircraft locally after all passengers disembarked. Subsequently, a replacement aircraft of the same model was sent from Korea for the return flight (7C2218).
This flight departed Da Nang Airport at 4:08 p.m. the previous day, delayed by 14 hours and 38 minutes from the originally scheduled time.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is investigating the cause of the runway deviation with the crew of flight 7C2217.
Jeju Air stated, "We are investigating this incident."
