[Financial News] Korea Development Bank held the 'KDB Next Round in Gyeongnam' at the Changwon Convention Center on the 28th, in conjunction with the startup fair GSAT 2025 hosted by Gyeongsangnam-do.
This year's first regional round, the Gyeongnam round, focused on expanding investment opportunities for regional startups with competitiveness in various fields such as defense, robotics, and materials, as well as distribution and healthcare.
The round included a panel discussion on the competitiveness of the Gyeongnam venture ecosystem and an IR presentation by five innovative startups based in Gyeongnam, along with an introduction to the venture support work of the Korea Development Bank.
In the panel discussion, Quantum Ventures Korea (capital region VC), Ready Robust Machine (regional startup), and the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center (regional startup support organization) participated to discuss the competitiveness of the Gyeongnam venture ecosystem.
In the subsequent IR session, five innovative startups representing various industries in the Gyeongnam region introduced their technology and marketability and conducted investment attraction presentations.
This event was an opportunity to introduce Gyeongnam regional startups with competitiveness that capital region VCs should pay attention to, despite geographical limitations, and to share the necessity of investment linkage between the capital region and the region.
Shin Hye-sook, Deputy Governor of the Korea Development Bank (Innovation Growth Finance Division), said, "Gyeongnam is growing as a center of the regional venture ecosystem where traditional industries and innovative startups harmonize and as a base for technological innovation," and "The Korea Development Bank will be a reliable partner for the leap of regional startups based on the mission that 'the competitiveness of the region is the competitiveness of the nation.'"
