[Financial News] STX Engine announced on the 29th that it has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with battery pack specialist CTNS and officially launched the multi-purpose battery pack brand ‘SIMBA (STX Engine Infinite Multi Purpose Battery)’. This is a strategic move for the transition to a next-generation energy platform.
The two companies are laying the groundwork to officially enter the rapidly growing military secondary battery pack market. They plan to collaborate on the development of battery packs optimized for multi-purpose fields.
The two companies unveiled the prototype of the military 6T standard battery pack for the first time. This product is expected to not only replace the existing lead-acid batteries used in the military but also meet the demand for secondary battery markets due to its high energy density.
The SIMBA lithium-ion 6T battery pack unveiled this time boasts more than five times the energy density of existing lead-acid batteries and can provide higher output and longer lifespan.
STX Engine stated that SIMBA is a high-efficiency, high-performance energy platform that can lead the market not only in the defense sector but also in multi-purpose fields, and that they will lead the market by reflecting the requirements suitable for military and special-purpose tracked and wheeled vehicle fields.
CTNS also expressed that it is very meaningful to showcase products with differentiated competitiveness based on the technological capabilities of both companies, and that they will supply multi-purpose battery solutions that meet global standards through SIMBA.
The two companies plan to build a mass production system early by conducting demonstration evaluations and tests in various environments for the prototype, and aim to expand into the global military and industrial battery pack markets beyond the domestic market.
