[Financial News] LIG Nex1 announced on the 29th that it has joined hands with Shield AI, a leading tech company in the field of AI-based autonomous navigation, to enhance its capabilities in developing core solutions optimized for future battlefields, including manned-unmanned teaming and autonomous operation systems.
To this end, a comprehensive business agreement for the development of joint solutions specialized for future battlefields was signed with Shield AI at the International Maritime Defense Industry Exhibition (MADEX 2025) held at BEXCO in Busan the previous day.
The event was attended by key officials such as Shin Ik-hyeon, CEO of LIG Nex1, and Brandon Tseng, Co-founder and CEO of Shield AI.
The two companies will review and promote various cooperation measures through this business agreement, including △ integration of LIG Nex1's mission equipment with Shield AI's unmanned platform, weapon systems, and sensors △ development of autonomous operation systems optimized for manned-unmanned teaming mission environments △ joint exploration of the global market.
Manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T) centered weapon systems are rapidly becoming advanced and sophisticated based on hyper-intelligence, hyper-connectivity, and hyper-convergence, and securing operational solution development and platform integration capabilities to support this is emerging as an important task in the defense sector.
LIG Nex1 plans to lead future weapon system R&D to pioneer the evolving battlefield environment by combining its accumulated technology in fields such as unmanned systems, guided weapons, and surveillance reconnaissance with Shield AI's proven AI platform.
