[Financial News] Presidential candidate of the Gae-hyeok-shin-dang, Lee Jun-seok, criticized the past online remarks of the son of Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, on the 29th, saying, "For the past three years, we have suffered through a time of terrible pain under the name Kim Geon-hee," and added, "We cannot plunge the people into confusion again with names like Kim Hye-kyung and Lee Dong-ho. We must not repeat Yoon Seok-yeol's failures."
Candidate Lee held an emergency press conference at the National Assembly on the morning of the same day and criticized, "Presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, who was passive in verifying Kim Geon-hee's morality, faced political difficulties while shielding his wife throughout his term."
Regarding the controversial remarks mentioned in the TV debate, candidate Lee stated, "The expression in question was not created by me, but was directly posted by candidate Lee Jae-myung's son, Lee Dong-ho, on an online community," and added, "Although I quoted one of Mr. Lee's posts by replacing it with relatively neutral words, the expressions were so vulgar and obscene that even after refining and purifying them, there were limits. I sincerely apologize to those who felt uncomfortable."
Furthermore, candidate Lee pointed out, "In addition to vulgar hate speech, Mr. Lee committed illegal gambling over 700 times, totaling 230 million won, for nearly two years," and added, "If candidate Lee Jae-myung was unaware of this, it would be either indifference or incompetence."
Candidate Lee questioned, "Is such a person really qualified to lead the country?"
He continued, "The verification of a presidential candidate's family is not a matter of privacy but an extension of public responsibility," and strongly criticized, "Turning a blind eye to a child going down a destructive path is not responsibility but neglect. If a leader blinded by the lust for power cannot even take responsibility for their family, we cannot entrust the people to them."
