[Financial News Incheon=Han Gapsu Reporter] Incheon City announced on the 29th that it has expanded the coverage of the Incheon Citizen Safety Insurance to protect citizens from various disasters and accidents and support life stability.Added coverage for social disaster aftereffects
The Incheon Citizen Safety Insurance is a system that helps citizens maintain life stability in the face of various unexpected risks.
The city has adjusted the coverage limits of the insurance this year based on citizen feedback. The coverage limit for seven items, including death and aftereffects from natural disasters, explosions, fires, collapses, and public transportation use, as well as death from social disasters, has been increased from the previous 10 million won to a maximum of 15 million won, now expanded to 20 million won.
Additionally, the existing 13 coverage items have been enhanced by adding the 'social disaster injury aftereffects' item, supporting a total of 14 items and strengthening the coverage system.
The city has been operating the Incheon Citizen Safety Insurance since 2019. Citizens registered in Incheon are automatically enrolled without any separate subscription process. As of last April, a total of 594 cases, amounting to approximately 1.5 billion won in insurance payouts, have been made.
The city conducts regular surveys to reflect citizens' opinions in policy. Based on the results of a citizen awareness survey conducted last year, the coverage limits for items with high actual necessity were expanded, increasing the coverage rate and establishing a safety net that citizens can practically feel.
Yoon Baekjin, head of the City Citizen Safety Headquarters, said, "We will continue to expand the citizen safety insurance system so that citizens experiencing difficulties due to unexpected accidents can quickly return to their daily lives."
