[Financial News] HDC Hyundai Development Company proposed a design plan emphasizing scenic views for the Bangbae Sin Samho Apartment redevelopment project, featuring a height of 41 floors.
On the 29th, HDC Hyundai Development Company unveiled 'THE SQUARE 270', an alternative design for the Bangbae Sin Samho Apartment housing reconstruction project in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
This design was led by the global architectural group SMDP, well-known for designing major landmarks in Korea such as Seoul Forest. The core of the project is an original facade structure where two northern landmark buildings interlock to form a massive square gate shape. The interlocking facade design, which has no identical sides from any direction, is a rare form in large apartment complexes.
A sky bridge connecting the two buildings at the top is designed to serve as an open gateway towards Sapyeong-daero. The sky bridge, reaching a maximum height of 140m, aims to simultaneously secure symbolism, scenic views, and value as a local landmark with its simple vertical and horizontal lines.
The complex is designed to be 41 floors high, taller than the surrounding complexes (35 floors), by applying the revised Seoul city plan. SMPD also plans to double the number of Han River view units compared to the original plan and realize a 360-degree open view through facade design utilizing vertical lines and bold building placement. The complex offers space efficiency and maximization of scenic views, allowing for a refreshing panoramic view from anywhere in the complex.
The night view is handled by the lighting design specialist group LPA (Lighting Planners Associates). LPA, which designed Aman Tokyo Hotel and Singapore Changi International Airport, adds depth of light to the exterior aesthetics to create 'architecture completed with light' that differs between day and night. In particular, it plans to create a new night view attraction in the Bangbae area with a glow gate composed of a super-large art wall canvas55 and an infinity line.
The gate design is also differentiated. It is designed with a refined structure reminiscent of a museum or clubhouse, deviating from the traditional concrete-focused method. 'GATE WEST' is an integrated composition of glass mass and diagonal frames, connecting with the commercial facility 'Square Avenue' and reminiscent of the boutique and cafe street of Seorae Village.
Meanwhile, the Bangbae Sin Samho Apartment reconstruction project designated HDC Hyundai Development Company as the preferred negotiation partner on the 23rd, after HDC Hyundai Development Company was the sole participant in both the first bid on the 9th and the second site briefing on the 22nd. HDC Hyundai Development Company unveiled the design plan on the 27th, and after review by the board of directors and the representatives' meeting, the contractor is expected to be confirmed at the general meeting scheduled for July 12.
