[Financial News] Lotte Chemical announced on the 29th that it has been operating the environmental education program 'Toy Recycling Play that Even Kids Enjoy' for children at workplace daycare centers in five business sites including Seoul, Yeosu, Uiwang, and Daesan for about 40 days since the 12th.
This education is part of 'Project LOOP' to establish a plastic circular economy, and was conducted in collaboration with the social enterprise 'Kokkiri Factory'.
Children naturally learned the concept of resource circulation through various experiences such as △ dismantling waste toys and sorting parts △ making upcycling keyrings △ environmental quizzes. Activities to directly donate unused toys were also conducted, providing time to learn the meaning of environmental protection through play.
The partner company Kokkiri Factory is a circular economy specialized company that performs the entire process from collecting waste toys to crushing and raw materialization, and is participating as a social venture in the first phase of Lotte Chemical's Project LOOP.
Since 2020, Lotte Chemical has been promoting the expansion of the circular economy and strengthening environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management through the Project LOOP campaign. This resource circulation education is a pilot operation targeting workplace daycare centers, and plans to expand it to general daycare centers are also being reviewed.
A Lotte Chemical representative said, "We hope that children can experience the importance of resource circulation through play and have a positive perception of the environment," and added, "We will continue ESG activities for a sustainable future." moving@fnnews.com Lee Dong-hyuk
