【Financial News Chuncheon=Kim Gi-seop Reporter】Gangwon Province visited Kobe City, Japan, to promote local medical device industry entry into the Japanese rehabilitation and nursing market and establish a cooperation base.
According to Gangwon Province on the 29th, a delegation led by Deputy Governor Jeong Gwang-yeol visited the Kobe Medical Industry City, Japan's largest medical cluster, on the 28th to propose joint research and demonstration cooperation plans for strategic items and held successive meetings with local government officials such as the Kobe City Planning and Coordination Bureau and Hyogo Prefecture Health and Welfare Department to promote local companies' entry into the Japanese market.
The Kobe Medical Industry City is Japan's largest medical cluster, established after the 1995 Kobe earthquake for economic reconstruction, with over 360 companies and institutions conducting research and development, demonstration, commercialization, and global expansion in a one-stop system.
Deputy Governor Jeong, in a meeting with the Kobe City Planning and Coordination Bureau, expressed expectations that combining the excellent technology of Gangwon medical device companies with Kobe's proven infrastructure could lead to mutual growth in the medical industry of both regions and significant synergy in global market entry, proposing the establishment of a strategic cooperation system between local medical device companies and the Kobe Medical Industry Complex.
Additionally, he visited the Integrated Medical Device R&D Innovation Center and KIMEC Robot Care Center within the Kobe Medical Industry City to directly confirm Japan's advanced medical device development and clinical test systems, seeking specific response plans such as obtaining certifications necessary for strengthening product competitiveness and localization strategies of local companies.
At the KIMEC Robot Care Center, he confirmed the testing and utilization status of advanced rehabilitation devices and discussed the entry of local medical device products, especially in the rehabilitation and treatment fields, into the Japanese market through a meeting with Advisor Chin Takaki.
In a meeting with the Hyogo Prefecture Health and Welfare Department, he discussed Japanese medical policies and medical device regulations, explaining the potential for market entry in the rehabilitation and nursing fields based on the competitiveness of local companies, and requested support and cooperation from the Hyogo Prefecture government for entry into the local medical field.
Jeong Gwang-yeol, Deputy Governor of Gangwon Province, stated, "Through this visit to Kobe, Japan, we have achieved meaningful results by directly confirming Japan's advanced medical device R&D and clinical test systems and deriving customized cooperation plans for local medical device companies' entry into Japan through cooperation with government and private institutions."
He emphasized, "We will actively utilize the excellent facility infrastructure of the Kobe Medical Industry City, policy support from the Hyogo Prefecture government, and the international network of the Kobe International Medical Exchange Foundation to comprehensively support local medical device companies' entry into the Japanese market."
