[Financial News] Busan City announced on the 29th that two projects were finally selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's '2025 Root Industry Specialized Complex Designation and Support Project' competition.
The selected projects are the Busan Textile Surface Processing Specialized Complex Support Project and the IoT-based Eco-friendly Surface Treatment Smart Platform Construction Project.
The root industry refers to industries that are the foundation and source of innovation for manufacturing, utilizing six core process technologies such as casting, mold, and welding, and eight next-generation process technologies essential for the future growth of manufacturing, including injection, press, precision processing, and robotics.
The Busan Textile Surface Processing Specialized Complex Support Project, selected in the leading category, will invest a total of 4.44 billion won over three years from this year to 2027 to transform the Busan Textile Dyeing and Processing Specialized Complex, designated as a specialized complex last year, into the 'Busan Made (MADE) Mobility Textile Material Specialized Complex,' a strategic industry for Busan's future automobiles.
The Busan Fashion Color Industry Cooperative will lead the project, with the Busan Textile Material Promotion Center participating.
The IoT-based Eco-friendly Surface Treatment Smart Platform Construction Project, in the general category, will spend a total of 1.7 billion won this year to establish an IoT-based smart wastewater management system and Eco Tech Vision Room within the Jangnim Surface Treatment Specialized Complex, promoting the advancement of Busan's surface treatment root industry specialized complex into an eco-friendly surface treatment smart platform specialized complex.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun said, “This competition project will be an opportunity for the traditional manufacturing-based root industry to transition into an eco-friendly smart advanced industry centered around specialized complexes.”
