Candidate Lee promised through social networking services (SNS) on the morning of this day to establish the Ministry of Climate and Energy and to realize the public participation organization of the Presidential Committee on 2050 Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth, stating, "We will comprehensively establish and implement climate crisis response policies by integrating the energy tasks of the Ministry of Industry and the climate tasks of the Ministry of Environment, and foster new growth engines for carbon neutrality."

Candidate Lee emphasized the necessity by stating, "Our country is relatively delayed in transitioning to renewable energy, weakening industrial competitiveness, and the damage from climate crises such as floods, droughts, and wildfires is concentrated on the vulnerable and marginalized areas," and "Although we are still responding sporadically to various issues such as climate, energy, and human rights, an integrated control tower is needed to also solve social and economic issues together."

Furthermore, Candidate Lee stated, "The climate crisis is not simply a matter of global temperature rise. It is a crisis of human survival, as well as a crisis of economy, jobs, and human rights," and "I, Lee Jae-myung, will create a sustainable Republic of Korea through the establishment of the Ministry of Climate and Energy and the realization of the Presidential Committee on 2050 Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth."
