[Financial News] The salary of a nurse working at a national hospital in Saudi Arabia was revealed, drawing attention.
On the 28th, Cha Min-a, who is working at a national hospital, one of the world's top 100 hospitals located in Saudi Arabia, appeared on the tvN entertainment program You Quiz on the Block.
You Quiz participant "If you have a nursing license and 2 years of clinical experience, you meet the conditions"
Cha explained her background, "I originally worked in a hospital in Korea for 4 years. When I quit the hospital, I thought 'I won't be a nurse anymore'. Then I saw a post on the internet. It said 'Is there anyone who is a Saudi nurse?' At that moment, I thought 'That sounds fun'. If it were a post about being a nurse in the US or Australia, I wouldn't have clicked it, but a spark came. 'I said I would quit being a Korean nurse, but I didn't say I wouldn't be a Saudi nurse,' so I called the agency, prepared, and got hired."
Regarding the qualifications, she explained, "You need to graduate from a nursing department and have a bachelor's degree, and you need a nursing license. Also, if you have more than 2 years of clinical experience and a basic CPR certificate, you meet the application conditions."
"5-6 days a week, 12-hour shifts.. it's tough"
When MC Yoo Jae-suk and Jo Se-ho guessed that the salary difference would be significant since Saudi is known as a rich country, Cha said, "It's not like that. It's not as much as you think. It's around 5 to 6 million won per month. It's a high level compared to Korea, but it's not as high as in the US or Australia."
Instead, there were incredible benefits. Cha said, "You get a paid vacation for two months a year with the same salary. You get paid while you play. If you go to Korea or another country during the vacation, the round-trip airfare is free. Also, the good thing is there's no tax, so there's no concept of pre-tax and post-tax." She added, "Accommodation is also provided. Each house is 70 pyeong in size, and two or three people live together."
Additionally, there is nothing missing in the accommodation, including an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, gym, sauna, squash court, aerobics room, and supermarket. However, Cha also said, "It's 5-6 days of work a week. You work 12-hour shifts. It's tough," expressing the difference in working environment compared to Korea, where it's an 8-hour shift in 3 shifts.
