[Financial News] As South Korea's largest company, Samsung Electronics, aims to introduce glass substrates for advanced semiconductor packaging technology by 2028, related stocks like Enjet are on the rise.
As of 11:07 AM on the 29th, Enjet is trading at 8,500 won, up 9.11% from the previous trading day.
According to related industries, Samsung Electronics recently finalized a technology roadmap to replace the existing silicon interposer with a glass interposer. An interposer is a key component of AI semiconductors, serving as an intermediate substrate that transmits signals between the GPU and high-bandwidth memory (HBM). Although silicon materials have been primarily used, the high manufacturing cost has been a concern, leading to the emergence of glass substrates as an alternative.
Samsung Electronics is currently in discussions regarding the glass substrate supply chain and is also reviewing the application of unit-sized chips tailored to size. In this regard, Samsung Electro-Mechanics CEO Jang Deok-hyun stated, "We will establish a pilot line in the factory within this year to start sampling and line operation, and showcase it to at least 2-3 major US tech companies."
The news that the Samsung Group is officially entering the glass substrate market, a key component for high-performance semiconductors like AI chips, has recently attracted buying interest in related stocks like Enjet.
Enjet has entered the semiconductor and display markets based on EHD technology. In particular, it has started developing functional materials based on the world's first EHD printing technology to meet the demands of various markets. The company has jointly developed technology with Samsung Electronics to accelerate the development of ink for EHD, and has successfully completed the development of functional ink technologies for processes such as microLED and OLED repair. EHD inkjet technology refers to ink control technology using an electric field.
