[Financial News] Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) is hosting the 'LH Park Architecture Design Competition Incorporating Culture'.
According to LH on the 29th, this competition aims to transform function-oriented park structures like management offices and public restrooms into cultural spaces with innovative and creative design ideas from university students.
The theme of the competition is 'Experience Culture in the Park - Imagination of New Park Architecture', focusing on reinterpreting park structures of approximately 250㎡ as 'Cultural Core' with design and spatial composition proposals. Eligibility is open to domestic university and graduate students (master's) or those on leave, and entries can be submitted individually or as a team (up to 3 people).
The total prize money is 11 million won, with △1 Grand Prize (3 million won) △2 Excellence Awards (1.5 million won each) △10 Honorable Mentions (500,000 won each), totaling 13 awards. The judging criteria include △understanding of the theme and creativity △spatial composition △formality △feasibility, determined through a two-stage evaluation by internal and external experts.
Competition entries can be submitted from today until 5 PM on July 15th through the competition website. The selected works will be utilized in the design of parks and park structures planned for this year.
Dongseon Park, Director of LH National Urban Headquarters, stated, "This competition will explore the cultural expansion possibilities of urban parks and serve as an opportunity to imagine the role of new public architecture," adding, "We will actively support university students' creative ideas to be reflected in actual urban spaces."
