Sejong Networks announced on the 29th that it has newly introduced a Linux version of its endpoint security solution 'Troycut'. This launch is part of a strategy to respond to the rapidly increasing server security threats and to establish an integrated security system that encompasses Linux systems following the Windows-based environment.
The solution operates by detecting process execution events occurring in the kernel and blocking unregistered processes according to security policies linked with BPF before execution. Additionally, it distinguishes itself from existing Linux security solutions by adding the function of detecting and blocking ransomware activities that may occur on Linux servers.
Moreover, the Linux version of Troycut is designed with an ultra-lightweight structure of 15MB, ensuring stable operation even on low-spec Linux servers with a CPU usage rate of only 1% or less. Key features include △process execution control △ransomware detection and blocking △program usage control △system anomaly monitoring. Supported operating systems include Linux kernel 2.6.37 or higher, all versions of CentOS 7/8, all versions of Rocky, and Ubuntu 14.04 or higher.
With the launch of the Linux version, Troycut has completed a dual security system optimized for each operating system of Windows-based PCs and Linux-based servers. In the Windows environment, it detects and blocks malicious activities executed without user input as a first line of defense, while in the Linux environment, it maximizes security effects by completely blocking unauthorized process executions.
Meanwhile, Sejong Networks is conducting a free trial promotion to commemorate the launch of the Linux version. Customers who apply for introduction consultation through the website will be offered customized consulting and the benefit of using the Troycut Linux version for free until December 31st.
Kang Min-gu, head of the communications business division at Sejong Networks, said, “In a situation where threats targeting Linux servers are becoming more sophisticated, establishing a security system in advance is a key factor in enhancing a company's sustainability,” and added, “Based on the proven security and customer trust of Troycut, we will provide the optimal security environment to customers operating Linux systems.”
