[Financial News]  Israel has confirmed that Muhammad Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, has been killed.
On the 28th (local time), foreign media such as AFP reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Sinwar was targeted and killed in an airstrike on southern Gaza earlier this month.
Prime Minister Netanyahu stated in a statement released on the 600th day of retaliation against Hamas's surprise attack on Israel that Sinwar and tens of thousands of other Hamas members were killed.
Sinwar was presumed to have played the role of the de facto leader of Hamas following his brother Yahya Sinwar, who was killed by the Israeli military in October last year.
Prime Minister Netanyahu emphasized that Israel has driven out terrorists from its territory and also eliminated tens of thousands of terrorists after entering the Gaza Strip, stating that this offensive has changed the dynamics in the Middle East.
Steve Wykoff, the U.S. White House special envoy for Middle East conflicts, expressed optimism that a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip will soon be realized and announced that plans will be revealed shortly.
Meanwhile, the United Nations criticized the chaos over food distribution in the Gaza Strip, blaming the aid support system of the United States and Israel.
According to the United Nations, 47 people were injured at the food distribution site, mostly due to gunfire from the Israeli military.
In response, the Israeli military denied the accusations, stating that warning shots were fired into the air at the Rafah distribution center.
