Coffee Myungga announced on the 29th that it will hold a special talk program under the theme 'Talking about the History of Korean Specialty Coffee' at Coffee Myungga's headquarters in Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk, at 7 p.m. on June 27.
This event is designed to look back on the growth and flow of the Korean specialty coffee industry, which has grown in quality unprecedented in the world, and to highlight its special value.
In particular, it is expected to be a place where symbolic figures in the Korean coffee scene gather to share the roots and direction of specialty coffee.
Jeong Eun-kyung, co-CEO of Coffee Myungga, emphasized, "Our country has achieved remarkable growth in the coffee industry over the past decades, and will continue to play a leading role in the global coffee industry," adding, "This talk concert will be a valuable time to reorganize the flow of the specialty coffee industry and help the next generation of baristas and coffee enthusiasts understand the pulse of the industry."
On this day, industry representatives such as Shim Jae-beom, author and coffee critic of Kyoto Coffee, O Mi-ran, an instructor of CQI certified Q-grader (coffee taster) from the first professional educational institution in the United States, Im Jeong-hwan, the 2025 KNBC champion barista (Airy Coffee), and An Myung-kyu, the first generation of Korean coffee and CEO of Coffee Myungga, will appear to deliver vivid stories and deep insights.
This event is only open to pre-registrants, and detailed participation methods will be announced later through Coffee Myungga's official social networking service (SNS) and website.
Meanwhile, Coffee Myungga, a brand that announced the start of Korean specialty coffee, has played a pioneering role in laying the foundation and popularizing the specialty coffee industry in Korea since its establishment in 1990, including the development of the country's first roasting machine, the establishment of a coffee department at universities, and direct trade through exploration of various coffee origins.
