Busan Gangseo Gymnasium Infiltration... 50s Woman's Whereabouts Being Tracked
[Financial News] A man in his 30s was caught by the police for illegally entering the planned site of the 21st presidential election counting station under the pretext of confirming election fraud allegations.
On the 28th, Busan Gangseo Police Station announced that they are investigating a man in his 30s, Mr. A, who was urgently arrested on charges of violating the Act on Punishment of Violent Acts (joint trespassing).
Mr. A is accused of illegally entering the planned site of the 21st presidential election counting station, which is being prepared at Gangseo Gymnasium in Gangseo-gu, Busan, around 6 p.m. the previous day.
It is reported that Mr. A, along with a woman in her 50s, Ms. B, secretly entered Gangseo Gymnasium and stayed for about 10 minutes taking internal photos.
On that morning, the police, who received a report from the Election Commission, formed a dedicated investigation team and dispatched to the scene.
The police, who started tracking, urgently arrested Mr. A on a street in Haeundae-gu at around 2:46 p.m. on the same day.
Mr. A reportedly stated in the police investigation that he entered the planned counting site to confirm election fraud allegations.
It is reported that Mr. A and Ms. B conspired to commit this crime after discussing election fraud allegations on social networking services (SNS).
The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A as soon as the investigation is completed and are tracking Ms. B's whereabouts for her arrest.
The police emphasized, "We will respond strictly to illegal acts that harm the fairness of the election, such as unauthorized entry and disturbance at polling and counting stations, ahead of the early voting days (May 29-30) and election day (June 3)," and "Citizens need to be particularly vigilant."
