[Financial News] Huang Zitao, a former member of EXO who started a sanitary pad business in China, reportedly earned 3 million dollars (about 4.1 billion won) in just 30 minutes of online sales.

According to a report by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) on the 28th (local time), Tao conducted a live broadcast from his sanitary pad factory on the 18th. He sold a box of 62 sanitary pads for 49.8 yuan (about 7,000 won), and 450,000 boxes were sold within 30 minutes of the broadcast starting. Sales reportedly reached 22.5 million yuan (about 4.1 billion won).

On the 11th of last month, Tao also sold 49,500 boxes of trial sanitary pads for 0.01 yuan (about 2 won) each through a live broadcast, and it was reported that this stock sold out in just one minute. Those who purchased the sanitary pads left positive reviews on social networking services (SNS), saying, "They are breathable and light," and "They have excellent absorbency."

Tao ventured into the sanitary pad business after it was revealed last March that used sanitary pads were being repackaged and sold at inflated prices in China. At that time, Tao declared, "It's really disgusting. I cannot tolerate companies sacrificing women's health for profit," and announced, "I will set up a sanitary pad factory and live stream the 24-hour production process."

According to SCMP, as Tao promised, the factory operates three fully automated production lines, producing a total of 3,600 sanitary pads per minute, with each pack containing a QR code that allows consumers to check the entire production process in real time.

After leaving EXO in 2015 and returning to China, Tao reportedly inherited about 3 billion dollars (about 4.128 trillion won) from his late father. Since then, he has expanded into the entertainment business, construction, and the food service industry, continuing to grow his business.
