[Financial News] Kim Moon-soo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, asked Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, on the 27th, "If Lee Jae-myung becomes president, will he self-pardon the five trials for the crimes he committed?" Lee Jae-myung responded with a smile, "It is theoretically impossible."
Candidate Kim made this counter-question during the 3rd TV debate in the 'Politics' sector hosted by the Central Election Management Commission, in response to Lee Jae-myung's question about whether former President Yoon Seok-yeol would be pardoned.
Candidate Lee asked, "Is it impossible to deny an act of rebellion, but will Candidate Kim pardon former President Yoon?" Candidate Kim dismissed it by saying, "It is a completely irrelevant question. Asking someone who started a trial if they will pardon is neither valid nor appropriate."
In response to Candidate Lee's question about whether he would sever ties with former President Yoon, Candidate Kim replied, "There is already nothing, so there is nothing to sever. What relationship are you talking about?" He added, "Severance is something that happens when there is a relationship."
