[Financial News] The Presidential Office on the 27th urged the Democratic Party to "immediately stop actions that slander the Presidential Office based on unfounded reports," calling their claim of evidence destruction "false information."
After the Democratic Party claimed that Jeong Jin-seok, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Office, was trying to destroy evidence of rebellion citing a report, the Presidential Office, after verifying the facts, dismissed the Democratic Party's claim as false.
The Presidential Office conveyed through a notice on this day, "We express strong regret over the Democratic Party's claim of evidence destruction today (27th) and clarify that this claim is false information."
Previously, the Democratic Party claimed in a briefing on this day that "last week, Jeong Jin-seok, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Office, instructed 'not to hand over to the new government and to destroy PCs, etc. by any means necessary.'"
Regarding this claim by the Democratic Party, the Presidential Office emphasized, "The Democratic Party's claim is not true at all," and "especially, after confirming with military intelligence agency personnel dispatched to the Presidential Office who reportedly made the report to the Democratic Party, it was confirmed to be completely untrue."
Mentioning that they have verified the facts, the Presidential Office warned, "In accordance with the law on the management of presidential records, all actions are being taken legally," and "if such actions continue, the Presidential Office will take all necessary legal actions against the spread of false information."
