Upside Academy, operated jointly by Dunamu and cybersecurity specialist company Tiori, offers a practical curriculum specialized in cybersecurity, Web3, and blockchain security.
Domestic security technology experts currently active in the field will participate as mentors, providing knowledge and experience through a personalized 1-on-1 mentoring approach. Additionally, it is linked with university credits, currently collaborating with five universities including Korea University, Kyonggi University, Ajou University, Soongsil University, and Sejong University, with up to 12 credits recognized.
The third session of Upside Academy will also select a small elite group of 20 participants, similar to the first and second sessions. Intensive education combining theory and practice will be conducted over approximately four months, from August 18th to December 19th, seven days a week. All participants will be provided with the latest MacBook Pro, a monthly learning support fund of 1 million KRW per person, and an activity fee of 250,000 KRW per team. To ensure a safe and optimized learning environment, industrial accident insurance, individual study spaces, and a snack bar will also be provided. In this third session of Upside Academy, the Web2 cybersecurity curriculum will be significantly enhanced, in addition to Web3.
Even after the official course completion, participants will be offered various follow-up support programs such as follow-up projects and research support, global conference presentations, and employment networking.
Anyone from university students to office workers can apply. Applications can be submitted on the Upside Academy website until June 29th, and successful candidates will be selected through a practical test and interview.
Jae-Yong Jeong, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Dunamu, said, "Upside Academy is a talent development program that fully embodies the accumulated experience and know-how of experts in the existing blockchain, Web3, and cybersecurity fields," adding, "We ask for the interest and support of many security aspirants who will lead the Web3 ecosystem in Korea."
