The influence of early voting on the main voting approval rate has not been officially verified, but each candidate's side urged voters to participate in early voting, believing it could lead to cohesion and solidarity among their supporters.
Yun Ho-jung, the head of the central election committee of the Democratic Party, said at the meeting of the central election committee heads held at the party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, "It was the great people who dismissed the rebellion leader Yoon Seok-yeol in 123 days," adding, "But it is not over yet. This early voting is a decisive opportunity to remove the rebellion forces from politics."
Yun mentioned that the recent overseas voting turnout recorded an all-time high of 79.5%, emphasizing, "The aspirations of overseas citizens who crossed mountains and seas to reach the polling stations are condensed into anger. That power must be connected to early voting."
The Democratic Party also mobilized all members of the election committee, except for online election campaigns, to return to their regions to support field campaigns and encourage early voting. A party official said, "Now it is a 'battle of attrition.' Persuading each and every citizen will determine victory or defeat."
The People’s Power also rolled up its sleeves to encourage early voting among the people. Initially passive about early voting, they shifted their stance, driven by a desperate need to gather even one more vote through the anti-Lee Jae-myung coalition front.
Yoon Jae-ok, the head of the election strategy committee, claimed at the election committee meeting, "We will realize the golden cross (reversal of Lee Jae-myung's approval rating) starting from early voting," adding, "The favorable impression of candidate Kim Moon-soo is spreading among moderate voters along with the consolidation of conservative supporters."
He continued, "I know there are some concerns about early voting," but added, "The management level has been greatly strengthened through continuous problem raising, and our party is thoroughly monitoring the entire voting and counting process by assigning observers."
Lee Jun-seok, the presidential candidate of the Reform Party, emphasized on Facebook, "I urge the younger generation to choose future politics through early voting, not low-level deceit." He further emphasized, "This election is an opportunity to surpass both Lee Jae-myung and Kim Moon-soo," adding, "We will ensure that the Republic of Korea preparing for tomorrow does not leave you out."
