On the 26th (local time), a suspect was arrested in a car crash incident in Liverpool, UK, but no evidence of an organized terror plot was found. A total of 47 people were injured in this incident, with no fatalities.

According to local media such as the BBC, the police authorities in Merseyside, UK, held a press conference on this day and announced the arrest of the suspect in the Liverpool incident.

The police stated, "The arrested man is a 53-year-old white British man from Liverpool," adding that "an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the incident." They continued, "It appears to be an isolated incident with no connection to anyone else. This incident will not be investigated as a 'terror act'."

On this day in Liverpool, Merseyside, a victory celebration parade for the local football team 'Liverpool FC' was held. Having recently secured their 20th championship in the English Premier League (EPL), the Liverpool team rode an open-top bus through the city center on the last Monday of May, known as 'Spring Bank Holiday', to showcase the championship trophy to fans. Tens of thousands of people gathered along the approximately 16 km stretch of road to witness this scene.

According to the daily Guardian, after the main parade ended and road controls were lifted around 6 PM, a small van drove into pedestrians on Water Street in Liverpool. The black van initially collided with one pedestrian before changing lanes towards the crowd. The vehicle stopped on its own after colliding with several people, and the driver was arrested at the scene.

At least 47 people were injured in this incident, with 27 taken to the hospital for intensive treatment. Among those hospitalized were four children, with one child and one adult currently in serious condition.
