Service and Experience Design Engineer Qualification Exam to be Held on June 28

[Financial News] Korea Institute of Design Promotion announced on the 27th that the 6th Service and Experience Design Engineer National Technical Qualification written exam will be held on the 28th of next month.
The Service and Experience Design Engineer is a national technical qualification targeting professionals who develop and operate design concepts and models based on service and user experience (UX). It is classified as an 'engineer' grade according to the National Technical Qualifications Act, and the qualification examination is conducted through written and practical exams.
Applications are open until 4 PM on May 30. Details such as the examination criteria and eligibility can be found on the dedicated website for Service and Experience Design Engineer of the Korea Institute of Design Promotion.
The announcement of preliminary passers of the written exam will be on July 4. The final passers of the written exam will be announced on July 25.
Those who pass the written exam will submit their applications for the practical exam from September 15 to 19 and will take the practical exam on October 11. The final passers will be announced on November 14.
The Service and Experience Design Engineer was established as a national technical qualification category through the deliberation of the Ministry of Employment and Labor in 2018. The Design Promotion Institute was designated as the entrusted institution in January 2020 and has been conducting the exam once a year. So far, a total of 1,063 people have obtained the qualification.
Qualified individuals are issued a national technical qualification certificate. The Promotion Institute also operates various follow-up support programs for qualification holders, such as industry trends and recruitment information. Additionally, it continues multifaceted efforts to activate the system, such as promoting the qualification system, engaging examinee activities, and granting additional points to qualification holders.
Yoon Sang-heum, President of the Korea Institute of Design Promotion, said, "Service and experience design is a future-oriented field that connects people, systems, and technology to design a better daily life," adding, "We will continue to reflect the demands of the industrial field and create an examinee-centered environment to build a virtuous cycle ecosystem centered on the qualification system."
