Plogging is an eco-friendly activity that involves picking up trash while walking or jogging, combining the Swedish word 'Plocka upp' meaning 'pick up' and the English word 'Jogging'.
Medytox employees, about 50 in number, collected cigarette butts, PET bottles, tissues, and other household waste in plogging bags made from recycled banners instead of plastic bags on the walking trails and around Jangjakgol Park near Plant 3, and completed the separation and disposal.
Medytox plans to operate this plogging event as a year-round campaign rather than a one-time event, accelerating the creation of social value through community contributions.
A Medytox representative said, "We plan to promote various activities to strengthen win-win cooperation with the community for sustainable growth through this event," and added, "We will take the lead in solidifying ESG management by expanding environmental campaigns in the future."
Meanwhile, as part of its ESG management, Medytox has been conducting various social contribution activities in the community. Currently, it regularly operates experiential learning using facilities within the plant for children at daycare centers located in Osong, Chungbuk, and last year, it conducted the 'Gyeonggi-do Career Experience where students and companies meet' to bridge the educational gap for youth in Gyeonggi Province.
