[Financial News] KORAIL announced on the 27th that if the nationwide city bus strike scheduled for the 28th takes place, they plan to operate 32 additional commuter train services.
The temporary commuter trains will be operated on 9 lines including Gyeongbu, Gyeongin, Gyeongwon, Ilsan, Suinbundang, Gyeongui-Jungang, Gyeongchun, Gyeonggang, and Donghae lines, with 14 times in the morning, 10 times during evening rush hour, and 8 times during late night, totaling 32 times.
To facilitate passenger convenience and distribution, the rush hour period will be extended by 1 hour to increase train deployment, and the last train will be extended to 2 AM the next day to support late-night travel.
Additionally, to alleviate congestion during peak times such as commuting hours, 1,412 dedicated staff will be deployed at 44 major stations to strengthen customer guidance.
