[Financial News] On the 27th, a week before the 21st presidential election, each presidential candidate and their camps actively encouraged participation in early voting (29-30) as a means to boost approval ratings.
The influence of early voting on the main election approval ratings has not been officially verified, but each candidate's camp urged voters to participate in early voting, believing it could lead to the consolidation and cohesion of their support base.
Yoon Ho-jung, the head of the Democratic Party's Central Election Countermeasures Committee, requested participation in early voting at the General Headquarters Meeting held at the Yeouido Party Headquarters, stating, "It was the great people who dismissed the traitor Yoon Seok-yeol in 123 days, but it is not over yet. This early voting is a decisive opportunity to expel the treasonous forces from politics."
Yoon mentioned the recent record-high overseas voter turnout of 79.5%, emphasizing, "The aspirations of overseas citizens who crossed mountains and rivers to reach polling stations are condensed in anger. That power must be connected to early voting." He further appealed, "With the determination of life and death, we will create a true Korea. Please gather your strength for the capable national candidate Lee Jae-myung."
The Democratic Party also had all members of the election committee, except for online campaigners, return to their respective regions to support on-site campaigns and encourage early voting. A party official stated, "Now it's a 'battle of attrition.' Convincing each and every citizen will determine the outcome."
The People Power Party also rolled up its sleeves to encourage early voting among the people. Initially passive about early voting, they shifted their stance, driven by a desperate need to gather even one more vote through an anti-Lee Jae-myung coalition front.
Yoon Jae-ok, the head of the General Election Countermeasures Committee, claimed at the election committee meeting, "We will achieve a golden cross (reversal of Lee Jae-myung's approval ratings) starting with early voting," and "The appeal for candidate Kim Moon-soo is spreading among moderate voters along with the consolidation of conservative support."
He continued, "I am aware of some concerns about early voting," but added, "The level of management has been significantly strengthened through continuous issue raising, and our party has thoroughly monitored the entire voting and counting process by assigning observers." Reform Party presidential candidate Lee Jun-seok emphasized on Facebook, "I urge the younger generation to choose future politics through early voting, not low-level tricks." He further stressed, "This election is an opportunity to surpass both Lee Jae-myung and Kim Moon-soo," and "We will ensure that Korea preparing for tomorrow does not leave you out."
