【Financial News Ulsan=Choi Soo-sang Reporter】 Ulsan Ulju-gun appointed national football representative Seol Young-woo as its first official honorary ambassador.
Ulju-gun held an appointment ceremony on the 27th at the county office with Mayor Lee Soon-geol, player Seol Young-woo, and his father Seol Ho-gang in attendance.
Player Seol was the first to be appointed as an official honorary ambassador since the enactment of the Ulju-gun honorary ambassador operation ordinance last February.
He will continue various domestic and international activities to promote Ulju-gun's policies, culture, tourism, and enhance the region's status.
Seol, from Eonyang-eup, Ulju-gun, joined Ulsan HD in 2020 after passing through the Ulsan HD youth team and Ulsan University.
He was selected as a member of the national football team for the 32nd Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and played as a representative in the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023, winning a gold medal.
Currently, he is with FK Crvena Zvezda, contributing to winning the Serbian Cup and the regular league, achieving a double crown, and is active in both the European league and the Korean national team.
To aid in the recovery of the forest fire damage that occurred in March in Eonyang-eup and Onyang-eup, Ulju-gun, he donated 10 million won through his agency on the 8th of last month.
Player Seol said, "I am very honored and proud to be appointed as the first official honorary ambassador of my hometown, Ulju-gun," and "I will do my best to elevate and promote Ulju-gun's status wherever I am."
Mayor Lee Soon-geol said, "The bright and energetic image of player Seol Young-woo matches well with our clean nature and future-oriented policies of Ulju-gun," and "We will widely promote the diverse charms of Ulju-gun domestically and internationally with the new honorary ambassador."
