Discussion on Global Expansion Strategies and Institutional Foundations Amid Rising Protectionism
[Financial News] A 'Startup Global Outbound Policy Seminar' will be held on the 28th at IFC in Yeouido, Seoul, to respond to changes in the external environment such as the strengthening of protectionism. This seminar is co-sponsored by the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, and Korea Venture Investment Corp., and hosted by the Korean Society of Venture and Entrepreneurship.
This seminar is prepared to diagnose the difficulties faced in the overseas expansion process of startup companies and to discuss effective policy support strategies and the strengthening of institutional foundations. The main topics include △ difficulties faced by domestic startups due to the strengthening of protectionism △ overseas expansion policy support strategies △ investment management plans and recovery strategies △ overseas expansion support plans.
In the presentation, Professor Yang Junseok of the Catholic University of Korea's Department of Economics will analyze country-specific and industry-specific damage cases and response plans under the theme of 'Challenges and Support Strategies for Startups Due to the Spread of Protectionism'. Following this, Professor Kim Junik of Konkuk University will present 'Support Plans for Global Expansion of Startups', proposing step-by-step support strategies such as market research, certification and legal consulting, and partner matching.
The discussion will be chaired by Kang Youngjae, Chairman of the Creative Economy Innovation Center Council, with participation from Lee Changhyeong, Director of the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development, Hwang Seokjin, Director of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, and Lee Changmin, Head of Korea Venture Investment Corp., to discuss policy alternatives and effective support plans.
Yoo Jongpil, President of the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development, said, "Solving institutional problems is important for the overseas market entry of startup companies," and "I hope this seminar will serve as a cornerstone for strategy formulation and strengthening institutional foundations for the activation of overseas expansion of startup companies."
