[Financial News] The Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS), together with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Transport Institute, conducted education on the freight vehicle transportation business system for local government officials on the 27th at the Seoul Transportation Culture Education Center auditorium.
This education was conducted for 244 city, county, and district officials in charge of the freight transportation business nationwide. It was held to enhance the work capabilities of local government practitioners and establish a continuous cooperation system with local governments for the smooth implementation of the advanced freight transportation system.
The advanced freight transportation system is a system to prevent the practice where freight companies do not contract with freight owners and only receive fees from them, passing the actual transportation volume securing responsibility onto the freight owners.
TS educated on methods to detect transportation companies that violated the direct transportation obligation and minimum transportation standards through the freight transportation performance reporting system. Additionally, education on the qualification system and management system for transportation workers was conducted to strengthen traffic safety for commercial vehicles.
In the future, TS plans to conduct annual education on system capabilities and operate a dedicated call center to support local government officials' system utilization and capability enhancement.
TS President Jeong Yong-sik stated, "TS will do its best to create a transparent and safe freight transportation industry ecosystem in Korea in cooperation with local governments."
