[Financial News]  The Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS) announced on the 27th that it will host a Drone Capacity Development Academy from the 26th to the 30th at the TS Gimcheon Drone Qualification Center and Suncheonhyang University, with participation from four countries in Africa and Asia.
The Drone Capacity Development Academy is an educational program that transfers Korea's drone qualification system, policies, infrastructure, and practical application cases. This academy includes participation from 14 high-ranking officials related to the aviation authorities and drone industry from four countries, including Ghana, Mongolia, Cambodia, and Papua New Guinea.
The academy consists of △Drone piloting theory and practice △Drone spraying and search and rescue △Facility inspection △Anti-drone, and other experience and field visit programs in areas actually applied in the domestic drone industry.
Additionally, TS will strengthen international cooperation focusing on the operation of the drone qualification system and talent development starting this year. To this end, TS signed a 'Business Agreement for Supporting the Training of Drone Professionals in Ghana' with the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority on the 26th. The agreement includes the joint establishment of a drone academy, support for educational facilities and instructors, and mutual technology exchange.
TS is promoting the hosting of a local drone academy in Ghana this year based on this agreement. Furthermore, it plans to support domestic drone companies to advance overseas in connection with ODA (Official Development Assistance) projects.
TS Chairman Jeong Yong-sik said, "TS will continue to strengthen international cooperation to lead the development of the domestic drone industry."
