Conservative Forces Gather for a Major Offensive
Former President Park told the press, "The country's situation is difficult in many ways, isn't it? So I thought a lot about my father and mother," adding, "A few days ago, I saw candidate Kim Moon-soo visiting my father's birthplace in Gumi and my mother's birthplace in Okcheon, and I felt a strong desire to visit as well, which is why I came today. I plan to visit my mother's birthplace in Okcheon this afternoon."
Former President Park had refrained from public external activities for over a year. Nevertheless, her actions on this day, 7 days before the presidential election, are evaluated as campaign support for candidate Kim. Former President Park did not support any specific candidate in the last presidential election.
Earlier, on the 24th, former President Park met with candidate Kim, who visited her residence in Dalseong-gun, Daegu. Former President Park advised candidate Kim, "Don't dwell on past events, unite as one, and win the election," and "Even if there are personal grievances, put them aside and ensure victory for the country." Candidate Kim requested former President Park, "As the queen of elections, please give me wisdom," and "Please help a lot."
Former President Lee Myung-bak also met with candidate Kim on this day to offer support. Former President Lee, who has been meeting active politicians at the Cheonggye Foundation in Seocho-gu, met candidate Kim in Yeouido, considering the final TV debate of the presidential candidates scheduled for the day.
Former President Lee urged, "I hope you show the people a sincere effort to persuade until the end," regarding the issue of conservative unification. He said, "If candidate Lee becomes president, he will be a president who governs the nation, and if candidate Kim becomes president, he will be a president who manages the nation."
He criticized Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party candidate, and praised candidate Kim.
Additionally, former President Lee encouraged, "Candidate Kim understands the difficulties of workers better than anyone, knows business management well, and has sufficient experience as an administrator who has attracted businesses, so I hope he becomes a good president who can manage the nation."
