A Bridge Between the Business Community and the National Assembly
【Financial News Incheon=Han Gapsu Reporter】 Park Joobong, Chairman of the Incheon Chamber of Commerce, has been appointed as the inaugural co-chairman of the KCCI Legislative Communication Platform, which connects the business community and the National Assembly.
The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) announced on the 27th that it would officially launch the External Cooperation Committee, in which chairpersons from 74 regional chambers of commerce across the country participate, to strengthen the legislative and policy response capabilities of the business community.
Chairman Park will play a key role as a co-chairman representing the Seoul Metropolitan Area, organizing the realities and voices of companies in the region, which has a complex industrial structure and diverse interests, and reflecting them in legislation.
The newly launched External Cooperation Committee aims to move away from the traditional simple proposal method and perform the role of the business community as a responsible legislative partner by reflecting corporate realities from the early stages of legislation.
The committee plans to strengthen practical communication through the establishment of joint response strategies for major economic bills, invitation meetings with National Assembly standing committees, and regularization of constituency-regional chamber meetings.
The committee will hold its first meeting at the KCCI Gyeongju Forum in July and is scheduled to submit its first proposal to the National Assembly in the name of the External Cooperation Committee ahead of the regular National Assembly session in September.
Chairman Park said, “We will closely gather internal opinions of the business community and connect policy dialogues with the National Assembly regarding metropolitan regulations to tangible legislative outcomes.”
