[Financial News] Amid the tug-of-war over unification between Kim Moon-soo, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, and Lee Jun-seok, the Reform New Party's presidential candidate, conservative commentator Cho Gap-je, CEO of Cho Gap-je.com, proposed that "in the final statement of today's TV debate, candidate Kim should declare support for Lee Jun-seok and resign."
Cho stated on the 27th on SBS Radio's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show' that "the person (Kim Moon-soo) who raised the issue of unification should resolve it," asserting this.
Cho said, "Then the final election scene can change from 'Judging Yoon Seok-yeol' to 'Judging Lee Jae-myung', and it can be transformed into a generational and political change led by the new 40s generation," emphasizing that "since Kim's biggest strategy was unification, they should conclude it themselves."
He also explained why candidate Kim is pushing for unification.
Cho criticized, "The reason for persistently pressing for unification, even knowing it won't work, is to shift the responsibility to candidate Lee Jun-seok when they lose significantly to Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party," adding, "The election was actually decided from the moment they selected Kim Moon-soo, who is known as a pro-Yoon Seok-yeol candidate."
He further stated, "Conversely, if the People Power Party had chosen Han Dong-hoon at that time, the unification of Han Dong-hoon and Lee Jun-seok would have been very powerful."
Cho also pointed out, "(Candidate Kim Moon-soo) should have said, 'If I become president, I won't pardon, I won't pardon Yoon Seok-yeol's couple if they are convicted, I will accept a special investigation on martial law.' But since he didn't act like that and asked for votes, criticism of candidate Lee Jae-myung doesn't resonate."
He also foresaw the future of the conservative forces after the presidential election.
Cho expressed a bleak outlook, saying, "As a political force, Korean conservatism has virtually entered the stage of destruction through this election," but added, "Since there is a lifeboat of Han Dong-hoon and Lee Jun-seok, I think they can make a comeback through fierce theoretical battles." He continued, "Even in complete ruin, there is the Han Dong-hoon faction. This election proves that Han Dong-hoon's path was correct."
