[Financial News] LG Chem announced on the 27th that more than 100 employees who voluntarily participated will run the 'Green Class' program visiting elementary schools and children's centers nationwide until the end of this year.
This program is part of an environmental, social, and governance (ESG) education project jointly promoted by LG Chem and the international relief and development NGO Hope Friends KIA. It is a relay talent donation activity where employees directly become teachers, focusing on resource circulation education and career mentoring.
Participants are composed of various job groups such as △Research and Development (R&D) △Sales △Purchasing and a wide age range from 20s to 50s. Employee teachers explained resource circulation and recycling technology through a keyring making experience using waste plastic with students and also conducted a career exploration class themed 'Living with Strengths'.
LG Chem expects this activity to provide children with environmental sensitivity and career planning opportunities, and to offer employees a chance for communication and pride with the local community.
Yoonju Go, LG Chem's Chief Sustainability Strategy Officer (CSSO) and Executive Vice President, said, "I hope that meaningful learning and exchange will be achieved for both children and employees through Green Class," adding, "LG Chem will continue to strive for the spread of ESG culture and continuous communication with future generations."
